He should have taken the full 12 weeks of FMLA leave if needed.

More to my point, let me ask you this. Who did Secretary Pete Buttigieg or the Administration appoint to be in charge of the Department of Transportation during his absence, during this critical time? Was it ever announced that he would be away from the Department of Transportation? The Deputy Secretary is Polly Trottenberg. Have we heard a peep from her regarding the supply chain issue during this period of time?

Above my pay grade, but off the top of my head -

Monitor shortages of critical goods and prioritize the transport of critical goods in the supply change.

Involve the military and National Guard for driver and logistics support.

Review state laws which may be restricting the hiring of employees in supply chain industry.

Suspend, at least temporarily, interstate regulations prohibiting certain commercial drivers from driving outside of a state.

Yes, I think the supply chain issue deserves more that platitudes.
