And another thing, d'you know where the two fingered 'up you, for the rent' salute comes from. Aka the V for Victory and then Peace salute, but with the hand turned around - palm to the rear.

Twas the longbow men of old England, whose attitude to aristocratic knights was probably somewhat affected by the French knight's habit of cutting off the draw fingers of any English archers they captured.

Hence their cheeky use of the 'up yours' salute on the battlefields of Crecy and again at Agincourt, as they slaughtered these stupid haughty aristocrats, charging into their fire.
