Awareness? Hah!

The public was "aware" of our 20-year occupation of Afghanistan, and was against it by huge margins, but did it care enough about it to change votes?
Nope.
All those antiwar protests during the 1960s had abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with the US withdrawal from Vietnam. Nixon prolonged the war for four years in the teeth of those protests and defeated the anti-war candidate in the biggest landslide in US history.
Awareness means crapola unless it's coupled with action and they're won't be any action.
Again, you can elect who you want, it won't change. It never has. You could look it up.
