The biggest problem is price, second biggest is misperceptions.
People don't want to pay a premium for battery power and who can blame them? I think Ford and GM are really screwing the pooch with $100K EV pickup trucks, for example. The Nissan Ariya is essentially a $60K Nissan Rogue with battery power. Doesn't work any better than the ICE Rogue, so why should somebody pay more?
Then there's the whole range anxiety thing which is foolish. According to NHTSA, the average car trip is only 12 miles and something like 9 out of 10 trips by car are 30 miles or less. Range shouldn't be an issue.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
