It had been tail ended at one point (carefully hidden by the dealer) and the wiring was chopped and diced. The trunk filled with water. Paint on the lower doors spiderwebbed and no body shop would touch it. The vinyl top peeled off on the highway.
The 350 V8 was typical SBC, nothing I did to it would stop it from running. But the wiring was so bad, occasionally the lights would dim for no reason and I didn't dare turn the car off at a traffic light or it might not have restarted.
I'd have learned a whole lot more about cars and had something a lot cooler and more fun to drive if I had bought the TR-6 instead.
Both cars were in the dealer's used car section, both cars were selling for the same price.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
