I will share this much and move on. My BIL was a brain cancer survivor from age of 7 and the radiation treatments left him physically handicapped and stunted his growth. Living in a rural area and with his limitations, job opportunities were limited. His break came when a woman in the church became the manager of the local Roses Department Store and hired him to do stock work. Several years later she was hired by Walmart to manage their new store and she recruited my BIL and several others to come with her. My BIL did stock work, mopped floors, cleaned toilets, gathered the carts and anything he was asked to do with zero complaints because he was very thankful to have gainful employment and a purpose in life. He was voted Employee of the Year at his store by his peers 6 times which provided a $500 bonus and a 5 day trip to Bentonville to be with all the other winners. Throughout all his career he was never allowed to advance beyond part time full time thus zero health care or retirement plan options. He died an untimely and tragic death that Walmart factored in to and at his funeral over 250 current and former Walmart Associates attended his funeral. The family friend that originally hired him at Roses and later Walmart retired 20 years ago and had passed away before his death.Walmart has benefited and harmed America in its pursuit of the lowest supply and operating costs and this comes with costs you and I do not necessarily see.
As a footnote, the Associates at his funeral were shocked to learn that he was a college graduate, which many of them aspired to be, and he performed some of the most menial and degrading jobs with honor and respect.
I am sure you will troll this response and that is to be expected but you can reflect on this and come away with a different appreciation how some admired companies actually operate and as I first said, Walmart in not the workingman's friend.
