...but when we got married, neither one of us had anything to fight over.
Over the course of our marriage (I'm widowed, not divorced) we always kept our finances somewhat separate. There was your money, my money and our money. Our money paid the bills, took care of the girls and residences, and investments for our joint/family future. Each of our own money that was left-over was for use/investment at our own individual discretion. Sounds weird, or somewhat "ahead of our time", but it worked for nearly 40 years.
The widow that I have been seeing probably has more money that I do (in fact, I'm pretty sure she does), so should anything come of that relationship (my girls and her kids want it to), I wouldn't be pursuing a pre-nup. Now, if I were dating a 25 year-old stripper, I'm sure my daughters would insist upon one LOL. My older daughter and her husband are both lawyers--they'd have one drawn-up and ready to sign before I even picked-out an engagement ring.
IDK--if I felt that insecure that I thought I needed one, I wouldn't marry. But that's just me, and I'm kind of "old-fashioned".
Everything in life is a "risk"...
