Hexavalent chromium and plating-processes, in general...

...have long been known/recognized to be toxic--both in terms of environmental hazard, and workplace safety. That's why they have been heavily regulated/monitored for the better-part of a century.

This is not new "news". This is your grandfather's "yesterday's news". Why they (CA) chose to pick-on such a "niche" industry is beyond me. And I'm not just referring to chrome-plating for custom cars and automotive restoration--I'm referring to the entire commercial plating industry. It's total contribution to environmental damage and adverse impact on worker-safety absolutely pales in comparison to, let's just say, something like the petro-chemical industry?

Sounds rather personal or politically-motivated, to me, at least...

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
