RE: California wants to ban the toxic chemical that gives chrome its classic shine

Chromium IV has, been banned in hydraulic fittings, pipe fittings, and all other surface treatments (that I was aware of). for decades. These were mostly known zinc chromate finish or passivated zinc. The gold looking one, and the silver one.
AFAIK this ban was put in place to protect the workers from the plating fumes when producing the products.

I'm kind of surprised that anybody is still using chromium IV.
