My OLD Sony SXRD projection set DID kick out lots of heat.
As did my Panasonic plasma.
The SONY bulb was replaceable and I do not remember cost....It'd be a LOT more today.
but the HEAT and buld life / cost solution is LED.....
Much less heat which is directly tied to less power usage. And they should last a LOT longer than any bulb / lamp.....
