RE: Technical calibration and personal preference are two entirely different animals...

My vision, is I suspect better than my hearing. I've tested with minimal shorfall of color in part of the green spectrum.
Never heard a system as you describe, but the DIRAC guys swear by a proper setup. My beef is one of repeatability. Short of using a mega-buck calibrated to NIST standards mic? How GOOD are the ones they sell? If you measured the same thing 10x, what would the distribution of results be?
Than? Go into the listening space 10 days in a row and do a full multi-point run EACH day. What would your repeatabilty be THAN?
I did metrology for a semiconductor fab and can attest to even a simple measurement tool having variation between operators.....Even ones I trained MYSELF.

Preferences play heavily into what you like. Are all that count, really. Though there is some 'converegence' on some aspects of what we share. As i noted, some viewers even reject the ISF result and go back to something else.....

I've not heard any attempt to figure out the role of Early Learning in this whole mess, either visually or audibly.
Too much is never enough
