The LG, Sony, and Vizio sets have more or less equivalent image quality after calibration. Sony claims to have superior motion processing, but if there is a difference, it's subtle. I'd have to compare them side by side playing a sports broadcast to confirm it. However, I did notice a slight advantage for Sony with SD content in the store.
The primary difference between LG, Sony, and Vizio is features. LG sets tend to be more gamer-friendly and the interface is based on webOS. Sony uses Android TV and Vizio uses their own software interface.
As of 2022, Samsung is now into the OLED TV market with their own jumbo-sized OLED panels. Since these are so new, image retention and panel life are unknowns. I haven't had a chance to see one in person yet, but I'm expecting them to look very different on the floor because Samsung's demo mode settings have traditionally been wildly overblown with grossly inaccurate color and soap opera effect on everything. I can't stand how they look in the store, but it apparently sells TVs.
