My 2008 BMW 135i had low profile run flats and I'm glad that it did. I drove over a rather sharp 'seam' transitioning from the freeway to the freeway overpass and the low profile tire popped. I was on my way to do a technical presentation and a 'working lunch' with our sales reps and the customer.No problem.
The TPM indicator in my gauge cluster showed extremely low pressure in my left rear tire and it felt squishy but I kept driving. I didn't have to pull over in traffic, jack the car, or get my hands and clothes grimy.
Just kept driving to my meeting and dealt with the tire next day.
