Neither candidate can untax tips unless Congress goes along.

And Trump's tariffs--which will shift the burden of taxation away from the wealthy and on to everybody else--might make up some of the lost revenue.
But Congress probably won't pass a tax bill that removes the tax from tips. Partisan politics is sure to get in the way.
I'm not in favor of tax cuts, not even for cutting my own taxes.
