I was surprised that the 9th circuit would rule to overturn the ordinance and am happy that they got it right. ;)
In San Diego County, several cities have gas bans in the works. In fact, the San Diego City Council voted 8-0 last year to not only eliminate natual gas hookups for new construction, but also want to cut gas connections in existing building by 45% by 2030 and then phase out 90% in all buildings including houses, condos and apartments bu 2035.
That's insane. Not only would you have to replace your stove, dryer and heater, you also would have to pay far more in electric cost versus natural gas. It makes no sense and the rest of the county is now putting their bans on hold.
