The 2A3 wants a lower voltage. How about switching to a choke-input power supply, and keeping the PGP8 power transformer? You're going to need a new larger chassis plate anyhow - heck, recycle the old EXO-003 plate choke as the power supply choke and you're home free!
Dang, this looks like a really attractive idea! I'd go for a shunt regulated driver stage to keep that clean, deep bass thing going on.
