is something I always aimed for as a bass player/musician.
Having read many interviews when young with myriad musicians of many genres there
was a recurring riff of LEARN the music and your instrument and then... let it go.
It became something I strived for (when i probably should have just tried to be a
better bass player).
It took a long time to get there, but when it happens, when that improvised communication
connects with other players - that telepathy - there is nothing like it. The music plays you.
It's that muse root of music.
Some of my favorite writers say they are the vessel which the story passes through into final form.
They don't really know where it comes from or how it will manifest itself when complete.
Same concept of awareness and acceptance. But a solo gig.
It's all some sort of balancing act melding the spiritual, the intellectual, the known and unknown,
BOTH sides of ego ('cause that damaged or "lesser" ego is as powerful and influential as the other ego).
What a gas!
