Saw Ferguson a couple times; ditto BR... Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass, Basie, Sun Ra a few times (who had the swingest badass big band going near the end of his Earthly visit, channeling Fletcher Henderson and daze gone by) and the BIGGEST of all, The Charlie Watts Orchestra, which was HUGE.
Saw Woody Herman once WITHOUT his big band on a night that became this:
All big fun and musically satisfying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
