Ping! Tom Danley...Unfolding a LABhorn...

I was going through some of your posts in the archives in the LAB forum where you were giving the specs on the horn. You mentioned that the area doubles every 26".

Plotting out the actual values of the Labhorn comes out with a doubling about every 38".(By my calculations, anyway)

Plotting the curve at 26" results in a much faster expansion. The horn calculator on the Melhuish site matches very close for a expo (m=1) horn.Using the hypex(m=.5)comes out with a curve about in the middle of the other two.

The values that were given on the lab forum(http://www.prosoundweb.com/lsp/throat.jpeg)is much closer to my calculations, but still a more rapid expansion.

So now I'm completely confused....

If I were to build a straight horn,(my brother wants to put two of them in his attic)or to make a "low profile"version ,32"high,that is equal to the LABhorn, what value should I use?

Thank You for any light you can shed on the subject.
