Hi Tom and Steve,Sorry to interfere, but reading the interesting post above I have stumbled across some candidate drivers that at least comes close to the "ideal specs" Tom gave above.
Candidate 1: PD.107 from Precision Devices
A very powerfull 10" pro driver (Qe=0.164). Fs is slightly higher than ideal, Qms is lower than ideal, and Vas is a little higher too.
See all the T/S parameters in the link below.Candidate 2: JBL E120 which I assume you both know already. Again a very strong driver (low Qe), but the other specs are further away from the given ideal specs provided by Tom.
Both drivers are very powerfull, but also have limited Xmax, since they are not bas drivers. However, given that Steve will probably use the deqx unit which allows for steep crossovers that might not be a problem for home use.
