Bill, like you, my mains go to 80 Hz. My crossover is set around 70Hz, 24dB/oct slope. I tried different xover freqs and levels, in general preferring lower for better integration. Based on your experience, I'll go back and take another look at lower xover freq.I waited a long time to move the sub after install, because it is so large and heavy and a pain. Two weeks ago, my neighbor loaned me his sub so I could listen in stereo. I placed the second sub in the opposite corner, and found this an improvement in smoothness compared to the single corner sub.
Part of my experience I'm sure has to do with my almost square listening space.
