Very good description of a LABhorn!My sig gen only goes down to 20 hz,so haven't tested below that,but still plenty of output at 20,so should do somewhat below that.
Positioned as shown works best,but not very practical....I have mine against the front wall,facing into the corner 29" from the adjacent wall(per Tom Danley's rec).
I painted it to match the wall,and with the 60" RPTV and VOTT's in front it's almost invisible.(Sorta like hiding an elephant in the strawberry patch by painting his toenails red....Hehehehehe...)
800 watts with the Telarc 1812 is impressive....try that with a Velodyne...hehehe..(I actually did,once,at a stereo store.All there was was a SNAP! as the protection circuitry kicked in.The salesman was not amused....
I keep thinking about building another one,but a few minutes with some bass heavy music or a DVD with lots of 'splosions proves that to be quite unnecessary...
