Re: labhorn

Yes,it's fun to do insane things like this.I had to cut a hole in the back of the closet to make it fit. It only sticks out about a foot into the other room(junk room). No WAF to deal with...

Every one at work laughs at me for having a woofer in the closet, but they stop laughing once they hear it...or should I say feel it? This thing moves an incredible amount of air!

According to Tom,once you get below the horn cutoff freq,it acts like a direct radiator in a small room, and the rolloff should be somewhat offset by the room gain, extending the lf response. With some EQ it should be able to go somewhat lower.I "only" have 800 watts to drive it with, and can get 125+ db levels, so there is plenty of room to EQ,and still have way more output than is necessary for most purposes.

1 1/2 cabinets would theoretically be 1/8 space loading in a corner, which would give the designed 26.8 hz response. Since I'm getting down to 28-30 hz, that would tend to confirm that.

Yes, a video tape would be helpful, maybe we could get Norm Abrahms to build one on the New Yankee Workshop...Hehehe...
