My room is about the same size as yours. Lasyt summer I wanted to build a sub that would keep up with a pair of VOT A7s.I built eight 1.8 cu ft(internal volume)sealed boxes, each with a HSU Research ASW 1202 12" woofer. Stacked four high in each corner, powered by 1000 watts, they will produce 120 db. Still going strong at 20 hz(the bottom limit of my sig gen),they produce tight, clean bass,no boom.Last fall I built a LABhorn, and it eats the 8 12"s for breakfast! Much more efficient, and provides punch that only a horn can provide. It drops like a rock below 30 hz,but I'll take 30 horn loaded over 20 hz sealed any day. This is with no EQ.
Either way takes up a lot of space, but will put to shame those "toy" HT subwoofers that cost considerably more...
May the Bass be with you!!!
