Well, like anything, your mileage may vary.
It's not like the TAD 4001s were terrible, not at all, they're excellent. However, I felt the JBL 2441s were smoother, had more depth and painted a more organic, fleshed out, rounder sound stage than the TAD.
I surely could have lived happily with the TADs. Looking at eBay, the prices for 4001s have gone crazy. The only ones I found on eBay were $3K for a pair which is way too much for my blood.
