Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

yup

and "big LaScala" is an oxymoron. A Klipschorn is fairly big -- a LaScala is much more petite, and its LF performance testifies to the difference.
The MR horn and driver, and the tweeters (EV T35 in the vintage speakers) leave much to be desired, too, to my ears in terms of smoothness.

I'd say that a 515B deserves to be in an appropriate enclosure -- such as an Altec A5. Even then, the woofer (system) won't go low, but the LF it does produce will be very satisfying (with or without a subwoofer).

That said, I am currently misusing a pair of lovely 515Bs (which, in full disclosure, belong not to me but to one of the regional gurus) in a pair of 8 ft^3 vented cabinets designed for 604-series Duplexes. :-/
