Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

RE: Audio Note AN-E series perhaps?

They start around $6,000 up to $360,000. There are around 15 models in between.

A lot of speakers can sound mediocre at times. When I first heard they sounded bad. Not even mediocre...BAD. Now I own them. Had the AN K and AN J and AX Two. Two different AN E.

Shows have been a mixed bag. They were great in Vegas middling at CAS one year, pretty good another and terrific another.

But hey if the audio show is often people's first and only way to evaluate so you have to go on what you can audition. I'd never buy a speaker I personally heard and didn't like no matter the reviews or hype.

Generally, I now try to audition speakers in 3 rooms with three different set ups before I draw conclusions as I had two speakers ranked at the bottom one year at a show MBL and YG Acoustics only to ranke them 1,2 the next show! Wow what a turnaround.

For WAF the fact that the AN E can be positioned near walls and come in 20 finish options to match the home decor could be a plus. I owned the AN E/Lx which is their entry-level model (with full 15 ply Russian Birch all the way around - it is around $6,500 but the truth is AN always comes well down off their MSRP to make you feel like you're getting a deal - that is why there are no price lists I suspect because the MSRP may put people off. But when in the shop you will get them for quite a bit less.
