John was hoping that one of my D130s was perfect. The cone is, but if you look carefully, a little ripple on the silver metal cap says that it got poked somewhere in the last 60 years or so. The good news is that he didn't think the small hole in my other D130 with a perfect cap, would make any difference. I've never noticed one and the hole hasn't changed or torn since the old patch came unglued.
Thanks on the crossover info. I would have to change the inductor to 2.4mH and the cap to 40uf and add a 15 ohm resistor and likely a L-pad instead of the old resistors padding down the 2441. I'm a little relieved because getting parts would put me down for a while. Besides, the EdgarHorns are rather large and heavy and I've have to lug my old Straight 8s up a flight of stairs while they're torn apart.
Call me lazy. I ended up soaked with sweat pulling the woofers out, so I had to take a shower before heading out to LA. Then, I got to put them back after driving home.
The Edgars still sound better than ever, even though I still need to get them tweaked back to where they were before their adventure. On the bright side, I flipped the woofers 180 degrees to balance their gravity.
