Hi all,
a friend of mine who works in the (techno/electro) music industry wants me to help him build a PA system that will be available to rent for the underground party organizers here in Brussels. The system will be rented for lower prices than what is normally available, in the context of a non profit organisation.
The system as a whole should be made of four "totems" each comprising two or three subs, a mid bass horn, and a mid/treble assembly.
Focus will be on a sound quality that allows many club music genres to shine, from disco to Berlin techno, we don't want a hard-tek or reggae sound-system signature sound.
System will be massive but should still of course be relatively easy to move from place to place.
What we are planning to do is select the best size/performance enclosure drawings for each frequency band and have them built by a professional woodworker. We can also consider buying second hand cabs and have them refinished - in case having them built is too expensive.
The global budget including processor(s) and amps should not be higher than 20.000.
I'm asking the pro sound guys here: can it realistically be done for that budget?
Thanks in advance. I know this isn't an audiophile post by any stretch but I also know there are quite a few here who know their stuff about pro cabs.
