Cabinet sizes and tuning can vary , a simple vented box will work but I have seen them used in a front loaded horn.
The 414 is the best midrange driver Altec ever made per many who use them.
Run them with no crossover directly from your tube amp and add an Altec horn/compression driver on top 1st order @ 6.5KHz with L-pad or use Crites autoformers.
Joe Roberts did something similar and its easy to put together.
Good for classical and jazz listening.
