Considering that Wilson died in 1977, before subwoofers had come into common usage, I doubt he'd ever heard or built a folded horn sub. The bass horns that existed within the time frame of his experience would have been full range, like the KHorn, did have response issues related to their construction methods. Overcoming those issues was a fairly simple matter from a theoretical aspect, you just eliminated as many flat surfaces as possible, especially at the bends of the horn. From a practical standpoint eliminating flat surfaces was impossible using 3/4 inch plywood as a construction material, but not at all difficult using 1/8 and 1/4 inch plywood that's easily bent into shape, with bracing providing the necessary stiffness.
