just tough to listen to. In fairness, the K-horn, even stock, ain't bad. Pricey, though.
I guess the whole issue is what one considers affordable.
A pair of EV Esquires are cheap, easy to drive, and sound much better than Heresys to me , but they're also old and not especially easy to find.
I would think the "Pi" speakers are a value-priced alternative -- I've not heard any of them, though.
I come by my distaste for Klipsch honestly, having lived with a pair of mostly stock Cornwalls for a decade. The price was right, and they're fun -- but they're just too aggressive and crude sounding to be a long-term 'solution' relative to my tastes.
The Chorus and Chorus II ain't bad, IMO, though.
all the best,
