Yes I know that, but in-room they actually have output lower than 100Hz; Peavey specs them at 58Hz (-3d? -10dB? I don't remember) when loaded with BW drivers.
In my room without subs they certainly sound like they have useable output down to 50.
I have to compromise. I can't have a horn sub the size of a fridge. I'm happy enough Waffie lets me have those two FH1 monsters AND two bass reflex subs in a European sized living room.
I'm currently high-passing the FH1 at 40Hz 24dB and the subs have their low-pass set around 50 or 60Hz; whatever overlap this creates helps integrating the BR subs to the FH1 horns.
The 40Hz high-pass has no other purpose than limiting the power wasted by the small amplifier that drives the FH1.
I tried having the subs properly crossed over to the FH1 at 80Hz 24dB using the active crossover but it didn't sound good at all.
It's not scientific at all but I won't be the first one integrating its subwoofers entirely by ears.
