I've been working with the FE206ne, and fe166ne for few years. Like everything else in Audio, it's all about the design of the system. I find the Fostex offerings a very good value considering their potential to bring the magic when applied correctly. They can be "Shouty" in the 2k area. This can be mostly avoided when applied with the right enclosure and sufficient dampening upstream.
