Having the horn mouth on the floor doesn't extend the horn. It does realize half-space loading, which can be lost if the mouth is lifted high enough. But high enough is close to a quarter wavelength, which is tough to do with a bass horn. Mechanical floor coupling is a myth, see the link. Floor bounce is very real, but again the height required to get it rules it out as a problem with bass horns, unless they're being run well up into the mids or they're flown.
