I bet the polar plots for the Sweet 16 are interesting, to say the least. If only the author had placed the drivers vertically with tight frame to frame spacing he might have had something worthwhile.
No argument about current single driver rear loaders, they still can't get around the midbass dip, or laser beam high frequency dispersion.
I didn't read PE, but a lot of what was going on back then made its way into Popular Science, so that was my first exposure to the art.
