Where pro-sound versus hi-fi woofers are concerned it's not a Hoffman situation, but it's similar. High sensitivity means low Qes/Qts, but that chokes first octave response. High Qes/Qts gives good lows with lower sensitivity. Nonetheless I don't use pro-sound woofers for high impact midbass, I horn load hi-fi woofers. It works well, and is a lot cheaper than having to use a lot of drivers.
