My connections are all unbalanced, and I don't have any ground loop noise, because my system is correctly configured. That includes using the optical output of the TV to connect it to the system, and transformer isolation of the TV cable. I never said that you can't get good results with unbalanced. What I did say is that if you do have ground loop problems they're usually caused by unbalanced.
