It looks like it would be a blast to build, but for serious music and/or home theater I think more modern horn sub designs from Bill Fitzmaurice, Dr. Edgar and others would give much better performance especially in the range below 40 Hz.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
