In general you need an efficient (95 to 100+ spl for 1 watt ) a Qts of around .2, paper cone, fairly small Xmax. You can look up Dr. Bruce Edgar's Mid bass horn to get an idea of what is involved. The EV 15b or 15L drivers are a good starting point. You can usually find these drivers on ebay and don't cost too much. I also suggest you look at John Inlow's site and look at some of his horn designs. Good luck.
