RE: Down-Firing Straight Edgar Style Mid/Bass Horns

I just wanted to make a few points. I became fascinated with floor firing horns after I heard Edgarhorn Slimline. A very simple and very inexpensive speaker that Bruce was building at some point. But I wanted to take this design a step further and wanted to "roll my own." After discussing the idea with Bruce and studying various horns I came up with plans for a simple straight floor firing horn for a 12" driver. EVM 12L fit the bill perfectly. What you don't clearly see on the photo is that three out of four side (front and sides) are curved. Basically, I made the back flat and used its contours as a jig for sides that were laminated out of several layers of wiggleboard. Then I cut the sides as per my calculations and the sides then became a jig for the front that was also laminated out of several layers of wiggleboard. This created a a very strong structure. The bottom exhaust area is equal to 560 sq inches (for 80Hz)
