The baffle is used to cancel midrange radiation from rear of the cone.
It also loads the horn as kind of bass refex/horn.
The idea is to control the 100-110Hz area. The karlson shape looks nice, but
you could use a series of holes ( see karlson paper).
Since we are dealing with long-ish wavelengths, internal angles and reflectors don't do much.
The only stuffing is a little behind the cone to keep the mid rear radiation suppressed. Another interesting aspect of this design is that there is only one five degree angle to achieve the horn profile.
