Hi Aaron, well, that is a good question! JA measured the Horns alone in free space, not in a corner as designed (I reckon a K-Horn works properly out in free space too, but I'm not sure they have gotten a review :)) and so the measurements look a little screwy but that is ok, I was and always will be extremely grateful to him for allowing them in Stereophile. He found them to be 94db. Putting any speaker in a corner will give an apparent increase in efficiency and the Horns were designed to be corner Horns.........so let's ignore all that and just go with 94db. I have always "pretended" the Heils were 92-93db.
That is not the whole story......the Horns are both "sensitive and efficient" (the review explains the difference) and the Heils are almost a resistor. It presents a VERY easy load for any amp.
Soooooo.....let's just assume the GHH, in corners, is about 94db/watt. 2 watts will get you 97, 4 will get you 100db PEAKS..easy....and remember, that is one speaker and one channel of amplification. We have two of each.
So, while I don't have hard numbers for you, we do have JA's opinion of 94db, in free space, just the Horns alone. Again, keep in mind, the "easy to drive part" is very important with low pow SET's in particular, more important than very high sensitivity in many case, in my OPINION!
Hope this helps.
Ed
