I picked-up a 604B/N-1000-B locally in a Philco radio cabinet that is a bit smaller than a Altec 605 cabinet and so far it's working out nicely. I'm using he mono function on my Fisher 400CX-2 with my stereo cartridge and I'm pretty satisfied. I have a mono DL-102 cartridge coming to try out. This 604B is so much more articulate than the my Flamnenco's. Bass guitar sounds so natural. Some of my very good records sound startling while the marginal ones sound...well, pretty crappy. It is a very reveiling speaker. I have more work to do on my system but so far I'm very pleased.
