Hi Presto,
I cannot help you about the mids, but I have a suggestion with regards to the tweeter: I am very pleased with my Beyma TPL-150H as tweeter. It may not be a "true" ribbon, but rather a pro AMT driver (like the Heil AMT). I use the horn loaded version to accompany my fully horn loaded rig. To my ears the Beyma TPL sounds more natural and clean than any of the compression driver/horn combos that I have tried so far (e.g. no over-pronounced s- and t- sounds on female voices).
