This is a very valid question. I didn't mention it in my post on HT tubas, mainly because it had slipped my mind, but last summer my drivers were brand new when I was testing my tubas in the workshop, and I wasn't overwhelmed by the sound. This didn't concern me too much at the time because I've had plenty of experience breaking in new drivers. After I placed them in my system they steadily improved for several weeks until reaching their present very satisfactory level of performance.

I wonder if ffs would admit to only listening to new drivers for fifteen minutes before giving up on them even if that is the case. He struck me as being inclined to criticize just to try to prove what a "golden ear" he is.

I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
