The RCA SL-12 is a masterpiece of engineering.
Part of a 5 year research program of RCA, headed by Harry Olson, it is one of the best wide range speakers available.
Look up the first AES journal "Loudspeakers" and you will find the research data.
Despite the humble stamped steel frame, the SL12 is unlike any other speaker.
It has a special cone- very difficult to reproduce- that sets it apart from other wide range speakers.
I have Lowthers, Mangers, Phillips 12" wide range, etc, and the SL12 is the best.
Listen to a Quad on female voice vs the SL-12, and decide for yourself.
Best. Bill
