Well, I think the Minimax would be great with either amp. In fact I saw a review of the Minimax - F1 combination that was highly recommended - I think it was Stereomojo. Unlike the F3, the F1 is a fully balanced design, so I optioned for a balanced preamp, the Wyred-4-Sound ST Preamp and I am very pleased.
