Thanks for your reply! Yes, I really like the added sensitivity of the Beyma relative to the Paudio. Another thing that I find attractive on the Beyma driver is the relatively loose suspension of the driver relative to many other horn drivers of equivalent size. Ideally, it must be preferable to have the driver controlled by the strong magnet/horn, and not by a stiff suspension...
My main worry about the Beyma is the relatively small Xmax (1mm). But note that the diaphragm displacement at 120 dB as displayed in the other plot does NOT take the 48 dB/octave active LR high pass into account. So I guess that with a 6 dB reduction of the SPL level at the crossover point (160 Hz) the driver should survive even with eventual peaks around 120 dB.
