I have just had these conical low-mid horns made. I intent to use them in the 160-1000 Hz range. The throat size is 81 cm^2 and the driver is a 8†Fane Studio 8M. However, I am a bit uncertain about how to tune the back chamber optimally. I understand that back chambers of bass horns can successfully be tuned, so the impedance peak is around or just below the horn’s cut-off.
My question is: Should the internal volume of the back chamber for the low-mid horn be tuned, so the impedance peak is exactly at the desired crossover point, just below the desired crossover point, or…?
Obviously, the goal is the clearest, most detailed and dynamic mids in the 160-1000 Hz range!
Thanks a lot!
Best regards
Peter
